This year, the events were held under the title “Europe is Here”, and for the first time, the EU Delegation announced a music competition that led to the creation of the anthem entitled “Europe is Here”. This year, the events gathered representatives of 6 Armenian provinces, and the focal point was Yerevan.
Cyclists also joined the Europe Day events, and the cycling march was launched at Northern Avenue on June 2.
In an interview with Eritasard.am, Liana Khachatryan, PR Officer of the team supporting the EU, talked about the cycling march and stated the following: “Throughout May, we held various festivities, and today we are wrapping them up. Today we are holding a cycling march that has gathered over 100 cyclists. The EU Ambassador will also participate in the event. The route will end at Hrazdan Gorge where there will be short contests. We will also hold an award ceremony to award the best cyclists,” she stated.
When asked how the colors of the shirts had been selected, Liana Khachatryan said that there is a need for innovation and diversity every year.
The series of the Europe Day events won’t end with the cycling march since the day will be full of various concerts, theatrical etudes and a draw until 22:15.
