Young European Ambassadors Presented EU Opportunities for Youth
On 24 November 2018, in cooperation with the Armavir Development Center, Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) organized a meeting with the youth of Armavir and nearby communities to present the initiative, the opportunities it provides, as well as to briefly reflect on the EU projects and activities under the umbrella of #EU4YOUTH. The participants learnt about the EU, its history and institutions, EU-Armenia relations.
They had the chance to learn about the #EU4YOUTH projects which are implemented in Armenia. YEAs represented Erasmus opportunities, as well as platforms and tools through which young people can find more information on such opportunities.
During the visit, YEAs followed up on the activities done earlier this year in Lukashin village of Armavir region on the occasion of the World Environment Day. In June 2018, the Armenian YEAs organized a tree-planting activity in Lukashin together with the Armavir Development Center.
The ‘Young European Ambassadors’ initiative aims to foster cooperation and sustainable links between young people and youth organisations from the European Union (EU) and its Eastern Partner countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, and Ukraine. The network is primarily an online platform that facilitates the mutual exchange of ideas and information on the EU, as well as the engagement of young people in informative activities. It is focused on people-to-people contacts and dialogue-driven activities that contribute to greater awareness and improved perception of the EU and the enhanced assessment of its relations with the Eastern Neighbourhood.
