The event gathered over 2,000 people, including political leaders, heads of financial and technological corporations, intellectuals, representatives of regulatory bodies and more. The focus was on future development of blockchain and its socio-economic impact.
The team of the Nooor - Armenian Blockchain Association also participated in the Swiss Blockchain Leadership Summit, presenting the perspectives and resources for the development of blockchain in Armenia, the professional potential, as well as the preconditions and challenges for regulating the legislation on blockchain.
On November 23, President of Nooor Vigen Arushanyan gave a speech, after which he participated in a discussion on applications of blockchain in the real sector along with representatives of Bosch, IBM, S7 Airlines and the harbor of Roterdam.
During a panel discussion on the Next Industrial Revolution on November 24, Arushanyan expressed his opinion on the introduction of blockchain in developing economies and the opportunities for the formation of new markets. Among the speakers were Esko Aho (ex-Prime Minister of Finland), Ben Banerjee (InnMind, Switzerland) and Asilbek Davletov (Astana Financial Center, Kazakhstan).
Based on the results of the competition for startups to present their investors, the Armenian CryptoNDX Project won and was represented by the company’s director Artur Aslanyan. The startup’s victory justified the fact that Armenian blockchain projects are competitive in the international arena.
“Participation in such events is always on our agenda, providing us with the opportunity to present Armenia’s potential as a center for knowledge and to highlight the pivotal role and significance of Armenia in the region in terms of the development of blockchain. I predict that Armenia will be particularly active in the sector in the year 2019,” Arushanyan said.
