The Bayern Munich goalkeeper is reportedly considering retirement from international play after the UEFA’s EURO 2020 competition. Several media outlets have already announced about Neuer’s decision. Recently, Sport Bild reports that “Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will consider retiring from international football after the UEFA EURO 2020 competition”.
Neuer’s performance for both club and country has been excellent during this season. After struggling against the injuries of the past three years, Neuer finally appears to be fully back and has shown a consistent play and an excellent ability that has made many consider him one of the greatest.
Note that Manuel Neuer has been in the German national team for about ten years since 2009, during which time he was the main goalkeeper of the team within the three World Cups and two European Championships. In 2014 Neuer was in the winning squad for World Cup in Brazil.
