“Gangster Mac” - a Dark Comedy about Dark Life on the stage of Dramatic Theater
Yerevan Dramatic Theater playlist has been supplemented by a new and modern, anti-stereotypical performance. Theater actor and director Grigor Khachatryan, who loves experimenting, decided to refer to modern-day American playwright Robin Houdini's "Suspicious Business" play, making it "Gangster Mac."
The performance is about a gangster Mack, who is famous in London for a number of dark stories, about his nightclub girls and their friends. At the heart of American-style comedy is love, friendship, crime, and gangster life.
 
"In a modern and over-saturated reality, it is extremely difficult to find a play that will succeed in a much wider audience and be consistent with its narrative," - says Grigor Khachatryan.
 
Actors of the Drama Theater Emma Manukyan, Gagik Mkrtchyan, Emma Mkrtchyan, Diana Malenko, Nikolay Avetisyan, Levon Hakhverdyan, Lida Levonyan, Narek Martirosyan, Narek Qtoyan are performing. The play is directed by Samvel Harutyunyan.
 
The translation, composition and staging of the play was performed by Grigor Khachatryan, the artist is Honored Artist of the RA, laureate of the RA State Prize Karen Grigoryan, costumes by Mary Sargsyan, choreography by Aida Simon, music by Ashot Papazyan, and lighting design by Ashot Papazyan.
